Organizational Summary

Key Responsibilities
Therapeutic Services for Children/Youth
- School-based and community outreach to recruit 3Point program participants
- Model and promote authentic relationship building and collaboration with students, families, school community, and partnering agencies
- Building relationships with program participants through ongoing mentoring and communication
- Actively participate in the student success team at schools and IEP meetings while working closely with school based social worker when possible
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement Student Support Plans and provide crisis-level back-up support in 3Point’s programs.
Communication, Advocacy, Relationship Building
- Act as a liaison between families, staff, community organizations, schools, and partners including Mass Mentoring Partnership and local colleges.
- Promote effective communication & collaboration with mentors, staff, & caregivers.
- Connect families with appropriate community resources and services, and track referral outcomes.
- Advocate for families by identifying needs and helping to reduce barriers to youth success.
Training & Capacity Building
- Develop a system of family engagement events with the support of the Program team, organizing workshops, events, and informational sessions that support youth development and strengthen family engagement.
- Represent the organization at community events and foster strategic partnerships to benefit families and youth.
Program Evaluation & Reporting
- Monitor & follow up on family engagement to ensure access, transparency, & inclusivity.
- Maintain a reliable and up-to-date database of mentees and caregivers.
Qualifications & Skills
- A degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field is required; a Licensed Social Worker with an MSW is highly preferred.
- Experience working with youth (4th-8th grade) and families, preferably in a mentoring or community engagement setting, is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to provide services respectfully and professionally, using active listening and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support families, staff, and community partners.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting in front of groups, interacting with diverse audiences, and writing compelling reports.
- Support a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Strong knowledge of Google Suite, with proficiency in Gmail, Google Docs, & Sheets
- Commitment to understanding how systemic inequality affects children’s safety and well-being, and a passion for advocating for asset based approach, equity and inclusion.
Requirements
- Must pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check.
- Must have reliable transportation and/or reliable alternatives to get to and from sites
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Occasional evening and weekend commitments (1-2x a month) may be needed to fulfill the duties of this role
- Safety Care, Youth Mental Health First Aid, CPI training, preferred
- U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status
Salary and Benefits
- This is a full-time position with a salary range of $75000-85000 annually.
- Work Location: On site 5 days a week (school and office)
- Benefits include: health, dental, and vision insurance with partial partner/spouse coverage; and annual paid time off for vacation, holidays, and the week of between Christmas to New Year’s Day

3PointFoundation provides unique, free, sports-based learning programs to 4th-8th-grade students in the Boston Public Schools district to enhance social-emotional development through sports.
Our goal is to utilize basketball skill-building activities to develop and foster a life-long commitment to health and fitness through sports that lead to success in the school day, the community, and a global society.
Purpose of the job:
Create a fun and inclusive learning environment where students learn basketball to grow their basketball skills as you integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) concepts such as respect, inclusion, leadership, teamwork, perseverance, positive language, and personal/social responsibility.
Job Description:
3Point’s Basketball Program is a developmental basketball program for students in middle school, and coaches are expected to emphasize the life lessons of the sport of basketball in addition to teaching basketball skills. To support the ongoing individual development of its team of basketball coaches, you will be expected to commit to attending professional development opportunities that are offered by the organization.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Expectations of inclusion, enthusiasm, patience and good organizational skills.
- Criminal history background and National Sex Offender Public Registry Website (NSOPW) checks are conducted on all 3Point staff members when an offer is made. Your employment is always contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to be a team player
- Understand the fundamentals of basketball and how to teach them in developmentally appropriate ways.

Education and Experience:
- Experience playing and/or coaching a basketball team regardless of grade level or gender.
- Connection to the Boston community and/or Boston Public Schools is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with adult volunteers is preferred but not required.
- Experience interacting with diverse communities and the ability to integrate into an existing school community.
Work Environment:
- Time is spent between classrooms and gyms
- Support the lead instructor during enrichment blocks
- 4-10 hours in program a week, additional 1 hour of planning time, potentially more during summer hours
- Hours consist of time served between 1-6 pm M-F with occasional weekend basketball events.
- Two to Four 12-week sessions a year during the school year, between September and June and/or 5 weeks during the summer program
Compensation:
- $20-$25 an hour, 5 sick days a year, paid Holidays if regularly scheduled to work.

The 3Point Foundation seeks dynamic and enthusiastic instructors to assist middle school students in our college and career readiness program, project-based learning curriculum. This position is on-site and requires 15-25 (Part-time) to 40 hours (Full-time) per week during the school day and after school in the Boston Public School district.
As an instructor with the 3Point team, you will inspire and teach our youth to think critically, problem solve, improve communication, and teach 21st-century collaboration skills to create and present their ideas.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in youth education. Experience in the field of education is highly desired. This is a great opportunity for a flexible team player with a positive attitude, and strong communication and teaching skills to make an impact in students’ lives. Please note that there are additional opportunities if you also have the ability/experience coaching basketball with young people.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare for and deliver lessons, assignments, and enrichment activities (some planning outside of regular program hours may be required).
Prepare for each class by carefully reviewing the curriculum and creating classroom materials to support the student’s learning.
Differentiate instruction so that all students can complete the academic work.
Establish a productive learning environment and classroom culture in which all students are respected.
Understand and implement culturally and linguistically sustaining practices.
Maintain timely student attendance and progress records.
Work with other program staff to ensure all outcome goals are on track, including academic and social-emotional skill development outcomes.
Provide the Director of Academics, Program Director, and program staff with relevant and timely data regarding families and students.
Oversee classroom management and enforcing the school’s discipline code.
Care for program materials and resources.
Responsible for attending meetings as requested and reporting on classroom and student matters including progress on the curriculum and any concerns with staff, youth, and/or university students.
Ensure each school site has updated online reflections for the youth and personnel who are in the classroom.
Keep appropriate records, files, and documentation to facilitate effective program delivery, including rosters, attendance records, and summaries of questions and/or reflections on what students learned.
Ensure the classroom has the needed materials and supplies. Including making sure the supplies are readily available and properly stored after each session.
Responsible for prompt responses to emails and texts; advance notification about absences must be given including personal time off or sick time.
Other related duties and responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in a professional position where you have demonstrated the ability to positively impact our youth and address the diverse needs of students.
Possession of a growth mindset; a willingness to learn new technologies and teaching techniques.
A positive “I care” attitude, including the ability to maintain enthusiasm in the face of challenges.
Engaging communication skills, including the ability to hold students’ attention while discussing subject matter, and willingness to engage parents/guardians as partners in the camp or classroom experience.
Demonstrated ability to be a flexible team player.
Strong commitment to the 3PointFoundation’s mission.
Experience working with youth preferably in education or athletic programs.
Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and standards-based research/grading.
Elementary or Secondary Education degree and/or licensure.
